How FitLumina handles your data.
Privacy notice
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Who we are. FitLumina is a consumer fitness app. Contact: Fitlumina@outlook.com.
Age requirement
FitLumina is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support and we will delete it.
Data we may process
- Account details when sign-in is enabled (email and authentication identifiers via Clerk)
- Profile details you enter (name, age, goals, training preferences, optional body metrics, gender for demos/accents)
- Workout plans, session logs (including optional duration and heart rate used only for educational burn estimates), history, XP/streaks, and macro logs on your device and, when signed in and entitled, synced to our database
- Approximate nutrition values from the built-in food list or custom meals (not medical records)
- Apple purchase records when you subscribe or restore on this iPhone (not your full card number). An older website or Play purchase, if this account has one, is a separate seat and is not how this iPhone buys Free, Base, or Base Plus
- Optional comfort notes; if you use Lumina voice, short microphone audio or the text you type may be sent to xAI as described under Voice & AI
- If you use Estimate a meal (Base Plus), the photo you take or choose may be sent to xAI as described under Meal photos
- A per-user count of meal photos used each month (the count for that month, not the image), as described under Meal photos
Voice & AI (Lumina)
When you tap Continue on the in-app xAI permission, or turn on “Share voice and text with xAI” in Settings, FitLumina sends short microphone audio and/or the text you type (voice chat and describe-your-plan) to xAI. How: your device calls FitLumina’s /api/lumina routes on our host (Vercel); those servers call xAI (api.x.ai) for that request only. Uses: transcribe speech, generate spoken replies, and build a describe-your-plan week. We do not sell this data. FitLumina does not keep raw microphone audio as a long-term archive on our servers. xAI is required to provide the same or equal protection of this data as described in this notice. Retention or model-training by xAI follows xAI’s terms and privacy policy. Do not use voice for sensitive medical, financial, or government identifiers. You can revoke sharing in Settings → Lumina.
Meal photos (Estimate a meal)
When you use Estimate a meal (Base Plus), the photo you take or choose is sent over HTTPS to FitLumina’s server and on to xAI, our AI provider, only to identify foods and estimate calories, protein, carbs, and fat for the visible portion. How: your device calls FitLumina’s /api/lumina/meal route on our host (Vercel); that server calls xAI (api.x.ai) for that request only. The photo is processed in memory and is not stored by FitLumina. We do not write the photo to our database or to application logs. The estimate (food names, calories, protein, carbs, and fat) is saved only if you confirm it into your food log. Our server returns the estimate and does not write that food log. The photo is not part of the food log entry. If you confirm the estimate, that entry can sync with your other macro logs. We send the photo only after you give explicit consent in the app. That consent is the in-app xAI permission (Continue, or “Share voice and text with xAI” in Settings). You can decline and still use the app. Without that consent, Estimate a meal does not send the photo. xAI processes the photo to return the estimate. We do not use photos to advertise or to build profiles. We store, for your account, a count of meal photos used each month. That record is the count for the month, not the image. xAI is required to provide the same or equal protection of this data as described in this notice. Retention or model-training by xAI follows xAI’s terms and privacy policy.
Comfort notes & “injuries”
Optional comfort notes (body areas or limitations) help the app suggest gentler exercise swaps. They are not a medical record, not a diagnosis, and not monitored by clinicians. Do not use FitLumina to manage injuries or medical conditions without professional guidance.
FitLumina is a consumer fitness app, not a healthcare provider or health plan. We do not claim HIPAA “covered entity” status. We still treat optional limitation notes as sensitive personal information and use them only to improve training comfort in the app.
Retention
We keep account records while your account is active, and for a limited time afterward for security, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal duties. Apple keeps App Store payment records under Apple’s rules. Training data on this iPhone stays until you delete it in Settings. Cloud training state, when sync is on, stays until you delete it or we process a deletion request. Operational logs, when used, are short-lived.
Sale of data
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used under California law (CCPA/CPRA). If that ever changes, we will update this notice and provide required choices.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Contact support to exercise these rights. We will verify requests as required.
If we introduce advertising or sale/share practices in the future, we intend to honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required. Today we do not run third-party ad pixels for selling personal data.
